Most people LOVE Saturday's! I admit I used to, but lately I can't stand them. The good thing is getting to sleep past 6:00...if the kids let me. Today Caleb decided to use the bathroom in my room this morning. This of course woke me up, so I asked him why he didn't use his bathroom. He told me the toilet was flooded. I debated ignoring this, but if it was indeed flooded I would have to clean it up. If it was just the toilet, it could wait. Nope, the toilet couldn't wait either! If Hannah got up she would flush and flush and flush trying to get it to go down. Then it would indeed be flooded. So, I grabbed the plunger and headed to the bathroom. Thankfully, that was all that was needed. Then I told Caleb to go back to bed. He did, but it didn't last long. I heard him playing on the computer, so I asked him if he wanted to come in my bed for a little while. He got all giddy and jumped up! This is a kid who will fight over computer time and will NOT get up for anything! Have I mentioned his love language is physical touch? He snuggled up to me and just had this giddy giggle. It was the most awesome thing! After about 30 minutes he was good and literally jumped off my bed and back to the computer. I love that I got to spend that time with him this morning. A few minutes later Hannah came in asking for panties. She sleeps in a pull-up and changes into panties when she wakes up. Then she wanted cereal, so I got her a bowl of cheerios. I decided I should go ahead and make myself a pot of coffee, since it was obvious that I was done sleeping.
Well, now what??? Nothing.... Really, nothing! We have a hair appointment at 2:00, but that is all. It still feels like summer outside, so that nixes any fall type activities we might do. I don't like watching college football on tv, so we just sit. Have I mentioned before that I like routine?
Now it is 10 something, and there have been a few fights. Lots of chasing through the house, and some whining about chores. I have made my bed. Caleb has made his bed, and Hannah got herself dressed. Now the kids are ewwwwwwing about what to do with a dead, but still moving humongous roach in the bathroom. The thought of picking it up and flushing it creates high pitched screams and kids running away. Can I just have Sunday already?
I know what lies at the bottom of my Saturday mood. It is a word that has made its way onto this blog a lot in the last year. WAITING! Old waiting AND new waiting.... I know God is trying to teach me something in all of this waiting, but maybe I could learn just a little faster--just saying. When I think of the things I am waiting for I start to get stressed. Then I start feeling just a tad sad. I don't like feeling sad. What it boils down to is my desire for my children to have better. It breaks my heart that I can't do more. I just want the best for them, but who doesn't want the best for their kids. I am not talking about buying junk for them. We have plenty of junk...even after getting rid of more than half. I could honestly care less if they ever get another toy. I just want them to be happy. I want them to enjoy life and enjoy learning. This newest thing I am waiting for at least has an end date for my waiting. I will have an answer in March. Yes, I really did say MARCH and it is only September. Of course to get MY desired answer in March, God will have to move a mountain. I believe 100% that he could, but I am lacking faith that he will. Does that sound stupid? I have done everything I can do, it is all out of my hands. Now, I just wait...again...more...fovever. Friends, if you want to pray for me I would appreciate it. You can pray for God to move that mountain! You can also pray for my heart. It is just so bogged down right now. If you see me get teary, don't worry just pray. I am not dying. My kids are not sick. Marc is doing great. It is just my desires for my kids that moves me to tears. It is the unknown and the waiting that gets me down. It is my desires for them versus our reality. It is my trust in God and belief that HE can move mountains versus the fact that I think he won't that gets me down and stresses me out.
I would like to end with this verse:
Isaiah 40:31 "but those that hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Maybe the lesson is "Be Still." Easier said than done with the kids running through the house though. I was glad that school finally started so the girls would have something to do. They were getting pretty antsy there at the end of August.
