on my mind....
So, I have been thinking lately about my prayers for my children. I pray for the boys to be healed and for a hedge of protection around them. I also pray that my boys will grow up and be godly men. I pray they will follow God's will for their lives and be the spiritual leaders in their family. I pray for them to have wives who are women who seek the heart of God and will be on their faces before God for their husband. I pray for my girls to be women who seek God. I pray for them to go before God in prayer for their future husbands. I pray for their future husbands too. I pray that they will be strong men, firm in their faith. I pray they will be a spiritual leader to my girls and to their family. I pray their husbands will seek God's will and follow it. I realized today on the way to church and during the sermon (I know, really I was paying attention though. We have been going over God's will and God providing for a while)...anyway, I realized that God's will for their lives is not going to be what I want for their lives. I know that sounds really stupid. But, we have kids...our kids grow up and have kids. We always just assume they will be around all the time. To get to my point, my parents were born here, their parents...well they at least lived here, my brother and I live here. That doesn't mean my kids will. Many times God calls us out of our comfort zones and sends us somewhere. God's will for my kids might be in a different city, a different state, or even a different country. Anyway, most people think I am probably nuts about my rambling and yeah duh! Kids move away after they grow up and get married. I just have this strong feeling that God is going to use one...if not all of my kids for his glory and I feel like he is preparing me...or trying to prepare me for the fact that my kids are not my own. One day they will live their own lives, separate from mine. They might not chose to live near us. It is kinda sad. I always envisioned Christmas and other holidays at home surrounded by my kids and all their kids. That might not be what God has planned though. Anyway, I just felt really compelled to share my realization...I don't know why though.
