School!

Better late than never...right?

By the time the first day of school rolled around, I was READY! If you remember, the previous week I was not.

Caleb started 2nd grade. We did not request a teacher for him this year. I am really hoping his teacher is a good match for him. Of course he behaves amazingly at school. I went to his open house last night, and he is doing fine. He breezes through all of his math homework (he gets that from me). He reads well, but getting him to actually read is like pulling teeth. I can't wait until he starts to bring home readers! *said with sarcasm* I have more to say about Caleb, but that is for a different post. He is in need of prayers for his eczema right now.

Samantha started 5th grade. She is now going to an intermediate school. She likes it, but doesn't. She loves band, and is playing the clarinet. She doesn't like not being with all of her friends from elementary. She was thrown in a class with kids from all over, and didn't know anyone. I went to her open house last night also. Her teachers had nothing but good things to say about her...that doesn't surprise me. She is adjusting and doing well. Her homeroom teacher did mention that she is shy, but she is starting to open up and make new friends. Finally, she has started to WANT to brush and fix her hair! I don't mean fix, like a high school girl would, but she doesn't look like an unkempt child anymore.

Josh started 7th grade this year. He also moved to a new school; he is now at the Junior High. He LOVES it! He loves the freedom he has there. He loves playing football. He is the quarterback for the B-team. His practices are before school, so he has to get up super early and catch the high school bus. Amazingly, that is going well too. My not so little extrovert is just as friendly as ever. He also seems to talk too much. We are working on that though. He has also become extremely concerned with his looks! I swear, this kid combs his hair every 5 minutes!!!!
