Slowing down....

Things around here are finally slowing down. I received a text today and Caleb only has 1 baseball practice left and 4 games. One of the games got rescheduled and is on the same night as Josh's band concert (Josh also has a game scheduled for that night). I am really sad Caleb is going to miss that game because it is one we should win. I love watching the little ones play. Josh has 5 games left (including the one he has to miss) and twice that many practices. Kids choir is done for the semester. The King of the Jungle Musical was great! I have a few shaky videos, but no photos. If you have any I would love for you to send me a copy. Daddy will now get to do Wednesday nights while I go to choir practice. I am going to miss getting to spend time with some of the High 5 kids though. School is almost out and I am overjoyed!!!

We leave for vacation June 6...that is only a month away! We will have some readjusting to do due to the flooding in Nashville. That was going to be one of our stops. The kids were really excited about staying at the Opryland Hotel, but it is supposed to be closed for a few months. It was just going to be for one night. The original plan was to arrive mid afternoon, check in, go to the downtown area for dinner, then explore the hotel. The following day we were going to do the General Jackson Showboat, then head to our next destination. The showboat should be operational, but I really don't know about the rest of Nashville. Luckily, that is all we had planned there. I know there is so much more to Nashville, but we are planning a vacation for our kids and the stuff I would LOVE to do would bore the kids to tears. :)

I have put in a request for Caleb's teacher for next year. I asked his teacher who would best fit his needs and have patience with him during his horrible itchy outbreaks. She and the nurse discussed it and came up with a teacher that would be great for him. I hope he gets her! I am torn about Samantha though. I don't normally request teachers, but I don't think she enjoyed school much this year. I blame it mostly on the stupid TAKS test! Apparently our school has wonderful 4th grade teachers. I was told that too. I had one person tell me that there is not a bad one in the group. I had two other recommendations, one is a teacher I was already leaning towards. Josh said another person (not his 4th grade teacher) and Samantha had another idea. She picks based on how pretty the teacher is.....LOL I think I am just going to leave this one up to how the principal places her. I have faith that she will have a great teacher.

Speaking of teacher and school....any thoughts on homeschooling? I have that small voice that keeps throwing that word (homeschool) out at various times. Once while running....yes, running! My time to be open with my thoughts, it was NOT what I wanted to be thinking about. So...opinions? Ideas? I was thinking just for the TAKS years...maybe. Then again, I don't have patience. I get so frustrated when helping with homework sometimes. I just don't know, I am torn. Marc of course is all for public school because that is where he went and he "turned out just fine."

So, has anyone managed to "blog surf"? I am following a few more blogs. I don't have all the blogs I follow listed on my blog, but if you click on my profile you can see the blogs I have chosen to follow publicly. There are a few that I follow privately too. Have you found any good blogs? I have! ;)

This is about all I have time to say right now! Caleb's practice for tonight has been cancelled, but we still have Josh's. He absolutely has to go because he missed Tuesday's practice. It was not intentional. I was taking Samantha to piano lessons and I had Caleb and Hannah with me. Marc was going to take Josh to practice and then to his birthday dinner with grandpa and Mimi, BUT I realized I had all of his baseball gear in my car with me....30 minutes from the house with no time to take it back. No biggie though, he and daddy had some one-on-one time. Tonight we will be sweating out booties off though.
