A moment...

Do you ever have a moment that you can't explain, or just plain doesn't make sense to you? I had one of those this morning. For those that don't know, I sing with the 200+ adult choir during the traditional service at church, and again with the Gathering Singers during the contemporary service. I LOVE to sing. When I sing, it really is just an overflow of my heart. For me it is a truly heartfelt worship. Sometimes the songs are very moving...sometimes I am trying to think of when the key change is coming...and other times I am just praising God with my full heart. Today, I made it through the first service. It was GREAT! We got to SHOUT. Some of you will know what I mean. I was great and prepared for the second service. My heart was in the right place, so I thought. I made it through the first song just fine. Then during the second song, the words seemed to pierce my heart. I found myself praying while I was singing. I found myself asking questions while I was singing. My heart was focusing on inner worship and prayer, and not the "yes LORD" kind of response either. In private I will use praise and worship songs to prepare my heart and pray, but this was so different. I really can't explain it. After that song there was a baptism. Let's just say that story had me bawling! There were plenty of other singers feeling the same way. The next song just did me in. It wasn't even one of the songs that 'gets me', if you know what I mean. I honestly don't remember if I sang that song at all, or if I just stood there praying looking stupid. Well, the last song is one of my most favorite songs to sing. I mean, I really really really love it! I seriously can not explain what was going on in my mind. It was like a tug-of-war of my heart. I was singing. Then I was not. I was crying. Then I was not. I was singing again. Then I was just praying. I was praying. Then I was worshiping. It was just weird. I feel like God was trying to tell me something, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what it was. Maybe, I just don't like it....I don't know.

Anyone have any answers?

  1. Maybe He was just trying to tell you He loves you and that He likes your singing and appreciates all you do for Him. :) Or maybe something is coming that He wants to tell you, but you need to be prepapered for it.
