What does this have to do with waiting? Absolutely nothing! I am waiting, not Hannah. During the course of this waiting I have wanted to get down and throw myself a little fit just like Hannah's! Now how silly would that look? I am impatient and want what I want when I want it! Now before you think I am being impulsive we have been waiting, planning, praying, and talking while we have waited for almost 2 years now. I am just tired of waiting. It has taken its toll and bogged me down lately. This summer I have been reading through Psalms. Sometimes I feel like I want to speed up the process. Other times I feel like God has forgotten all about it. I was having a down day a few weeks ago. I sat down to read and ended up reading Psalm 37. The thing that stuck out to me in this chapter was "wait for the LORD". The whole time I was reading, it was as if God was reminding me to wait. So, here we are....waiting. I don't feel forgotten anymore. Thank you God for your reminder, because sometimes my selfish heart needs reminding. I was reminded that God has it worked out and I just need to seek him and follow his plan. I don't need to try and speed things up to get what I want. So, I will just wait and rest in Him during this season. I will do my best to not throw a little fit like Hannah, but even if I do I know I am loved. I can see God just sitting there laughing waiting for it to pass and for me to get over it so he can scoop me up.

Waiting
Waiting stinks! I really don't like it at all. A few weeks ago we went to Galveston for a family mission trip. We ended the trip at Schlitterbahn. When it was time to leave Hannah got mad. She did NOT want to leave. She did something I had never seen her do before....and I have no idea where she got this idea. She threw herself on the ground, kicked her feet and pounded her fists into the ground while screaming she wanted to slide. As the parent I had lots of feelings about this event. First I was laughing...I mean really, I had NEVER seen her do that and it really did look kind of funny. Then I looked around and started to feel a little embarrassed. People I knew were witnessing this fit. Then I got a little angry because she was being unreasonable and not listening to me. Finally, I just scooped her up and headed to change. She was still crying and I was still kind of giggling. After we changed she was still not happy and voiced her displeasure the whole way back to the bus. Not by throwing herself down, but just with her words and tone of voice. She made it known she wanted to swim and slide. Then we got on the bus and she went right to sleep.
