Creation Sings

We are back from vacation and it was WONDERFUL! The whole trip was just great. Honestly we weren't ready to come back home. Had our cabin not been booked we would have stayed there longer. I am slowly adding photos to the Project 365 blog. There I have photos from each day along with some stories and info. In this blog I am just going to be amazed and stand in awe. This first photo is of one of the decks at our cabin. I sat in the rocking chair just looking at the view--mountains, trees, fireflies, storm clouds, and rainbows. I also sat there to do my quiet time.

This is a photo I took while sitting on that rocking chair. During my quiet time a song popped into my head. We sang it in choir a while back. It is called "Creation Sings" (click on it to hear it). I have the song on my iPhone, so I played it while sitting there. I also played it for Marc.

Here are the lyrics:

Creation sings the Father’s song; He calls the sun to wake the dawn
And run the course of day ‘till evening falls in crimson rays.
His fingerprints in flakes of snow, His breath upon this spinning globe,
He charts the eagle’s flight; commands the newborn baby’s cry.

Hallelujah! Let all creation stand and sing,
“Hallelujah!” Fill the earth with songs of worship;
Tell the wonders of creation’s King.

Creation gazed upon His face; the ageless One in time’s embrace
Unveiled the Father’s plan of reconciling God and man.
A second Adam walked the earth, whose blameless life would break the curse,
Whose death would set us free to live with Him eternally.

Creation longs for His return, when Christ shall reign upon the earth;
The bitter wars that rage are birth pains of a coming age.
When He renews the land and sky, all heav’n will sing and earth reply
With one resplendent theme: the glory of our God and King!

Romans 1:20 says, "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse."

Do you see God's work? (there is also a rainbow in this picture) I stand in awe at God and his amazing creation. These mountains and trees are singing God's creation to me.
I am amazed at the sheer beauty. This is beautiful to look at from a distance. This is beautiful to look at from the ground inside. This is beautiful to look at while driving through. The same God that made me also made these mountains...and trees...and animals (including the bears)...and streams....and waterfalls....and daily storms. Each night we got to watch a fog rise from one end on the range as far as we could see. It would slowly engulf the whole mountain range that was in our sight. It was just amazing!
As I sat there day after day different songs came to me. One of the last ones was called "Then Will the Very Rocks Cry Out" (click to hear it)
Here are the lyrics to that song:

If we keep our voices silent, all creation will rise and shout.

If we fail to praise you, Father, then will the very rocks cry out!

From the corners of creation come the people of the Living God.

Every tongue and every nation gather now to praise the Lord.

If we keep our voices silent, all creation will rise and shout.

If we fail to praise you, Father, then will the very rocks cry out!

From a world of tribulation, come and let your voice be raised.

Join us now in congregation. Let the Living God be praised.

Alleluia! Unto him we offer praise. This song of joy to him we raise.

In the heavens angels sing. Give glory to the most high King!

We have also sang that song in the past (we also sang it my first Sunday back at church...I didn't know we were going to be singing it until I got there).

One afternoon as I sat there I wondered if those mountains were at one time small rocks that rose and cried out to God.

Where does that come from? In Luke chapter 19 Jesus was entering Jerusalem. The people were singing and shouting praises. The Pharisees did not like it and were getting angry. The Pharisees looked at Jesus and said, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples." (Luke 19:39) Jesus replies back to them (Luke 19:40) "I tell you, if these become silent, the very stones will cry out." Creation responds to God! Click here for some more about that.

If I don't praise God the rocks will cry out on my behalf....I don't want that!
