Not for me...
I have decided that I don't like working with babies. Don't get me wrong, I love babies, but it is just not for me. This week we have been doing Houston Project. I usually work with the youth (12+). I really liked working with that age. I won't go into the reasons I don't like working with the babies. The main reason I volunteered is because at the time that was where they needed people to serve. Well Monday, there were enough adults for the babies so I go to go serve in the prayer room. OMG! It was amazing! I absolutely loved it. I have felt drawn to prayer in the past, but I find it intimidating. I don't have those long beautifuly scripted prayers. I know what I want to say and sometimes trip over my words, so I get really nervous about praying outloud in front of anyone other than my kids. I know it is crazy because God knows my heart and what I want to say. It doesn't have to be some long script, just honest open and from the heart. Now I find nothing wrong with the people who can pray beautifully from the heart... the words pouring out like water. Mary Ann Bridgwater is one of those people. I have looked up to her and admired her for years because she is just an awesome prayER. She has a ministry called Pray the Word Ministry. She even has a book called Building a House of Prayer. For you Beth Moore fans out there, she wrote the forward. Now, I am lame and do not have the book...even though I used to be in Mary Ann's Sunday school class. I think I was just afraid about my own prayers. Actually, she just wrote a new book. I think I might have to check them out from the library. I am just blown away at how about an hour and a half in prayer can totally change a person.

Bless you! I am finding that I don't mind praying in front of people like before. I think the more you do it, the easier it gets. You don't have to be eloquent, just speak what is on your heart. And if it is short and to the point, so be it. :)
